Account upgrades · Sellers

Two upgrades. One is free.

Your account type says who you are — an individual, or a business. It costs nothing. Gear Depot Pro is the paid plan on top: it cuts your fee from 5% to 3% on every sale and unlocks the seller tools. They are separate choices, and a plan never changes who you are.

Who you are, and what you buy

The one thing worth understanding before you read any prices.

Axis one · Always free

Your account type

Who you are on the marketplace. An Individual sells their own gear; a Business is a registered company with a storefront, a team, and the Verified Business mark to work toward. Switching is instant and costs nothing.

  • Individual
  • Business
Axis two · Paid, optional

Your Gear Depot Pro plan

What you get on top: a 3% transaction fee instead of 5%, plus the seller tools. It is a subscription — monthly, cancel whenever.

  • Free
  • Individual Pro
  • Business Pro
  • Enterprise

A plan never changes your account type, and it never buys trust. Paying for Business Pro does not make you a Business, and no amount of money buys the Verified Business mark — that is earned by verification, which is free. What a plan buys is tools and a rate.

What a plan actually unlocks

Each card names the lowest plan that includes it.

  • Individual Pro

A lower fee on every sale

The transaction fee drops the moment a plan is active — on every order, with the minimum and cap unchanged. It applies to the sale you make an hour later, not next quarter.

  • Individual Pro

    A monthly boost credit

Credit toward promoting your listings, refreshed every month. It is not a discount code — it is spend, applied to the boost that puts your gear in front of buyers browsing the department.

  • Individual Pro

    Seller analytics & price recommendations

See what your listings actually do — views, watchers, and where offers stall — with pricing guidance drawn from what comparable gear has sold for on the marketplace.

  • Individual Pro

    Saved listing templates

Build a listing once and reuse its structure. If you move the same categories of gear repeatedly, this is the difference between a ten-minute listing and a one-minute one.

  • Individual Pro

    Scheduled discounts

Set a price change to land at a specific time and end on its own — run a weekend sale on a department without sitting at the keyboard to start and stop it.

  • Individual Pro

    Pro badge & store customization

Your storefront carries the Pro mark and takes your own branding. This is presentation, not trust — the Verified Business mark is earned separately and can never be bought.

  • Business Pro +

    Team accounts

Bring your crew into the store with their own logins and permissions, instead of passing one password around the shop.

Also needs the Business account type

  • Business Pro

Company branding, About page & certifications

A real company presence on your storefront — who you are, what you are certified to do, and how long you have been doing it.

  • Business Pro

    Request a Quote & bulk-buy inquiries

Buyers can open a priced conversation on volume instead of bouncing off a fixed price. The inquiry arrives in your store with the gear attached.

  • Business Pro +

    List rental inventory

Rent gear out alongside selling it, with day and week rates and deposits handled by the marketplace. Rentals is a paid entitlement and always has been — it is never granted by identity alone.

Also needs the Business account type

  • Business Pro

    CSV import & bulk tools

Move a real inventory in one pass rather than one form at a time — the difference between listing forty units and listing four.

Business Pro and Enterprise are scored as a Business account, because team accounts and rentals require that account type. Both are free to switch to.

Questions

Answered from what the product actually does.

Does buying a plan change my account type?

No. Your account type and your plan are separate. A subscription buys tools and a lower transaction rate; it never changes whether you are an Individual or a Business, and cancelling it never changes that either.

Is the Business account type really free?

Yes. Switching from Individual to Business costs nothing and takes effect immediately — you name your store and add your business details, and your storefront and team accounts unlock right away. We verify the business details afterwards, which is also free. Business accounts cannot be switched back to Individual.

Can I buy the Verified Business mark?

No. The Verified Business mark is earned through verification and is not for sale on any plan. Verification is free and mostly automatic, and it is available to every Business account regardless of what they pay.

What does Individual Pro cost, and when is it worth it?

Individual Pro is $19 per month and drops your transaction fee from 5% to 3% on every sale. The fee it saves cancels the subscription price at roughly $950 of sales in a month; below that you are paying more than you save, and it is worth staying on the free plan.

What is the fee actually charged on?

The item subtotal only — the price of the gear. It is never charged on the shipping you collect. A plan moves the rate; the per-order minimum and cap stay exactly where they are.

Do I need a plan to rent out gear?

Yes, and you also need the Business account type. Renting is a paid Business Pro entitlement — it is never granted by your account type alone, and an Individual account cannot unlock it by subscribing.

How many people can I add to my store?

A free Business account already includes team accounts, and Business Pro raises that to 5 seats. Individual accounts do not have teams — a person sells their own gear, so there is nobody to add.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Plans are monthly and you can change or cancel yours at any time in the billing portal. When a plan ends your rate returns to the standard one; your listings and your store stay exactly where they are, because no plan caps how much you can list.

Ready when you are

Start with the free one.

The Business account type costs nothing and takes effect immediately. Add a plan later, once the fee it saves is worth more to you than the plan costs.
